Like St. Pancras, Paddington also has an impressive canopy. Unlike St. Pancras, Paddington will continue to play host to late running national trains. This afternoon's 17:34 Reading - Paddington spent an uncomfortable amount of time sitting outside Southall whilst a defective signal was repaired.

Concorde continued the journey to its final resting place in Scotland this afternoon. The barge stopped outside the Houses of Parliament for the best part of an hour, and the aircraft was elevated to give the hundreds who lined the River Thames a farewell view. I did think it was slightly insulting that the supersonic jet was leaving the capital 'arse-end' first.

The 20:25 to Derby leaves St. Pancras this evening. Come the weekend St. Pancras will close for refurbishment. The new station will open as the new terminal for Eurostar, thus ending over 100 years service as a starting point for trains heading towards Northern England.

Reading One Million Years is a continuous reading from On Kawara's latest ten-volume work that is currently taking place in Trafalgar Square. I stumbled across it by accident - as did the many hundreds of bemused tourists who were visiting London today.

Michael Cliffe House on the Finsbury Estate seems to have had a troubled past, and I'm hardly a fan of concrete tower blocks, however the building always catches my eye when I'm in Clerkenwell and usually manage to squeeze out a couple of frames on my way to the Guardian.

Brian Haw has been asked to 'tone down' his vigil in Parliament Square as the Met Police are concerned that a terrorist may plant a device behind one of his many placards without him noticing. Despite this, he still seems in good spirits.
